The one who used to sit diagonally across from me, the one who smiled at my frank compliments, the one who told me I was “pretty” as if it were some strange form of comfort.
…The one who hurt me, Choi Woosang.
Over ten years later, I run into Woosang again at a class reunion. He is still arrogant, still full of himself, and I still hate him. Thinking I would never have to see him again, I turn my back on Woosang. Yet before long, he shows up at the shop where I work and throws accusations at me.
“Don’t tell me you’ve been selling your body? Is money really all you care about?!”
“Yeah. If it’s money, it works for me.”
What is he misunderstanding? How do I get him out of my life?
“Then I guess my money works too, doesn’t it?”
Would adding another layer of lies between us really change anything?
